I always take surveys, unless they're those ones where they call you on the phone, because those are just annoying and they release those results to other companies who will call you. There's advertising surveys, which are actually productive to fill out. I don't put down where I actually heard about them from, I mark the place I'd most tolerate seeing an ad. If I was filling out ratings for TV shows, I'd just fill out which shows I liked, and leave out the ones that sucked. I'd also mark a show I missed but wanted to watch, unless it was delayed because a baseball game ran late. With every survey I take, I feel I am molding the world more to what I would like it to be. If they ask for personal information, like address and such, I'll give it to them, just not mine. "Yes, my phone number is (109) 911-2469, and I live on-campus at Oxford University."

I don't drink and drive. I make sure to finish any drinks before I drive.

I have returned from the beach. I got burned pretty bad while I was there, but I put some aloe lotion on and it turned into a tan. I was shocked. Usually it goes from burn to white, sometimes even skipping peel, but this time it actually changed to tan. Only on my arms, though. Probably on my back, too, but I can't see that too well. My face got pretty dark, but mostly returned to white overnight. I actually had freckles for half a day. It was pretty scary. It's kind of scary to think that I could have freckles for half a day. Why half a day? I wouldn't think that such dermal abnormalities could appear and disappear so quickly. Well, they did. I'm far happier about the disappearance than the appearance, as you can imagine. Lucy Liu may look cute with freckles, but I don't. Not that I really want to look "cute".

Beach week is basically my summer vacation. When I was in school, summer vacation last 2½ months. Now it lasts 9 days. That's kinda the suck. Well, at least I've got Otakon coming up. That's this weekend. I'm looking forward to the inherent chaos that entails a convention of the otaku generation.

Sometimes I wonder how much it costs to make a penny. I'm looking at a brand new 2004 penny in all its glory. There's the tiny "2004" and "LIBERTY" and the ever-ironic "IN GOD WE TRUST", all surrounding Abraham Lincoln's well-detailed hair, face, and suit. Then there's more stuff on the back. Now, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't think that counterfeit pennies would be very profitable. You'd have to make them the right size, the right weight, and the right color. Beyond that, nobody really looks at a penny, but still, it'd probably be too expensive making fake pennies to make any money (ha! a pun) off it.

So I'm probably never writing the Anime Mid-Altantic convention report. I've got too much other stuff to do. I never even got a complete brainstorm of what happened at the convention. *sigh* This con report thing isn't going so well these days.

I know one place it's better to be a woman than a man: nudist colonies. Think about it. You don't have pockets. Where are you going to put things? You'd have to carry everything with you all the time. Can you imagine a guy walking around carrying his wallet in his hand all day? Women wouldn't have that problem. They've got a natural pocket. You can put your wallet, keys, and cell phone in there. Of course, if you have the cell phone set to vibrate, it can be embarrassing when you get a call.
