Update 2/25/05:
THAT WHICH IS OLD IS OLDER
I think I've finally gotten tired of World of Warcraft. It only took some 200 hours of total play time to do it, which is more than twice what I thought it would take. For the past few days, I haven't even managed to clock an hour on the game.
This may have something to do with Half Life 2, but I'm pretty sure this trend began before my recent purchase of that particular title. Also, I'm not playing Half Life 2 so much, as you can only take it in bursts of such an amount of time, and it quite possibly has the worst loader ever, short of one that just doesn't work. I'll save my review of Half Life 2 for another time, save that I probably spend more time playing with the physics engine than actually killing anything, simply because it amuses me. Also I've decided that run-on sentences are my friend, and I should use them more extensively.
Just when you think that this newfound boredom of a game that has sapped 90% of my free time since its release at the end of November will actually get me to do something productive, I go and get a new job. I try to maintain a policy of not talking about work and that which is work-related, so I will not go into detail about it, save for that it is new and it will earn me money, the latter of which being more important, but the former being all that is relevance. See? My love for run-on sentences is brimming.
I have, however, already finished most of my notes for the Katsucon report, so memory loss shouldn't be an issue this time around. The worst that can happen is I skip a few hours of Sunday... or my hard drive crashes. Yeah, the hard drive crash would be far worse. I could also die. That would be terrible, but I think is too obvious to bother mentioning... except that I already have mentioned it... Look! A bird! *runs away*
Update 2/20/05:
K-11
I have returned from Katsucon 11. I will have some kind of report up within the next two months (yes, months). The amount of time between now and then depends on what scale to which I wish to write the report. I will be writing this one entirely at home, seeing as writing it in multiple places ultimately led to the demise of the Anime USA 6 report. In regards to the Anime USA 6 report, I have the first part, which I wrote up to Friday evening. Everything I wrote about Saturday and Sunday is gone from my posession and memory.
Update 2/03/05:
IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU THINK
I never really noticed it before, but in the film Alien, the female lead character is named "Ripley", and the director of the film's name is "Ridley"...
Do you think he was maybe trying to very subtley tell us something there?
