ARCHIVE - July, 2005 Update 7/31/05: I GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN MY ROOM
I want a globe that is shaped like the earth without the water. So, mountains are sticking out of it to scale, and the deep gorges of the ocean are carved into it. Then, the texture is actual satellite photography of the earth's surface, so you can see the color of the mountains and the desert and oceans, and maybe even the beaches. This globe would be bigger than most, but not by much. I only want it bigger so I can better see the details. Something like this could actually have practical application. I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but it would be a good reference. Update 7/2/05: BATMAN BEGINS
Batman Begins is good. It's nice to see the series resurrected from Joel Schumacher's thinly veiled attempt to come out of the closet. There were a few technical flaws in the plot, but they're pretty easy to overlook. The scene when Bruce's parents died (oh hush, you already knew it happened) wasn't good at all, and I think the choices made surrounding that scene were completely unnecessary. They could've easily done it realistically and it still would've worked. There's a few other choices here and there that could've been improved, but overall it was a good movie. If you really liked Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, chances are good you're going to hate this one. Of course, if you're like me and hated those two movies, you'll like this one.
