INFECTIOUS GROOVES

My brother let me know that Mike Muir was working on another project called Infectious Grooves about a year after their first album came out. Anxiously awaiting its release, I stumbled upon it in a music store one day. Of coruse, at the time, I didn't have any money with which to buy it. I did eventually get it somehow, and it was great. "The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move... It's the Infectious Grooves" was my favorite album until I got Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", which currently holds the title.

Infecitous Grooves was started as a side-project for each of its many initial band members, led by Mike Muir. After the first album, many of the bandsmen moved on, but Mike and bassist Robert Trujillo held the band together, still as a side-project, but also touring at some point. Infectious Grooves usually tours with Suicidal Tendencies, sharing most, if not all, of its bandsmen.

Their musical style is a funk/metal hybrid, similar to Red Hot Chili Peppers, only more hardcore to either degree, and no rap. Also present are elements of jazz and blues. Their lyrics generally don't deal with anything, but contribute to the feel of the music greatly.
